Purple minions are the mutated minions from the movie, ‘Despicable Me 2’. Consequently, they are the evil versions of the cute and funny yellow minions.
Dr. Nefario transformed the minions into the evil minions with his mutagen, PX-41 serum in the second movie of the Despicable Me series. When the minions were injected with the PX-41 serum, within a few seconds they were transformed into evil minions in purple color.
These purple minions are meant to be indestructible and invincible; furthermore, they are super destructive and monstrous in both, nature and appearance. Weapons like flamethrowers, machine guns, axes, etc. cannot do any harm to them. On the contrary, they can swallow the whole police cars and even missiles and they are just as fine.
They are too dangerous and they will gulp down anything that comes in their way.
Characteristics of Purple Minions: Exploring Their Evil Nature
How do the purple minions look? Do they wear the same blue overalls as yellow minions? How do they behave? Do they speak the minion’s language?
Of course, they look evil. And purple. Unlike yellow minions’ combed and parted hair, evil minions’ hair is all wild and frizzy, long and purple. The arms are elongated than the normal minions. Their skin is purple in color. They have big, sharp, and crooked teeth which are always out of their big mouths.
They wear metallic goggles like yellow minions do but their eyes are blood-shot. Their overalls are black in color with ‘M’ monogrammed instead of normal blue overalls with ‘G’ monogrammed. The black gloves as well as black shoes are the same as the normal minions.
Since the purple minions are the evil minions, they are in a wild and untamed state. They are always aggressive, nasty, wild, senseless, and monstrous. Additionally, they are completely vicious and destructive.
Surprisingly, the evil minions don’t speak at all, instead they scream and roar and snarl. They growl every time when they open their mouth if they are not biting on anything.
Why the evil minions are purple?
The colors, yellow and purple are in the opposite sides in the color spectrum. Since the evil minions are the opposite of the cute and adorable normal minions which are yellow, they are made purple.
Purple Minions Movie Moments
After quitting the job and leaving Gru, Dr. Nefario joins El Macho in order to fulfill his evil dreams. He worked at PX-41 lab, which was stolen from the Arctic at the beginning of the movie. He makes the mutagen, PX-41 that turns any living thing (human, animals) into evil once injected into them.
El Macho and Dr. Nefario kidnap the minions and keep them on the beach. Later all those kidnapped minions were injected and were turned into disastrous evil minions. El Macho plans to take over the world with the help of those evil minions as his slaves.
Gru paints Dave and Stuart purple as a disguise of evil minions when they go for the rescue of Lucy who is kidnapped by Eduardo.
Eduardo sends Kevin after Gru to attack. But he is reverted back to the original minion by Dr. Nefario using PX-41 Antidote before he could attack. Several other minions pile on top of him thrilled to have Kevin back.
When evil minions are sprayed with jelly with an antidote on the roof of Eduardo, all turn to normal minions except John. Later Steve throws some jelly at him when he roars at Steve. He scratches jelly off his tongue with his hands after ultimately getting back to normal.
Though all evil minions are treated with an antidote and brought back to their normal selves, one evil minion appears at Gru’s wedding. He growls in the camera leaving everyone in shock and terror.
